Scorpion held his broad sword to his side as he walked through the Nether Realm, he threw the sword high in the air; without hesitation he caught it by the handle when it came back down. He could here the screams of the tortured souls throughout the realm, screams that would drive a mortal into maddness, but didn't bother Scorpion in the least. He had 'lived' here for what seemed like, and had been, eternity. The memories that he once had, of his family and past life had vanished, the only recolection he had of his past was his death, he could remember every detail of that day and the ones after and these thoughts were all he knew of his past.

He had been sent once again to the Nether realm after the previous Mortal Kombat after seeking revenge upon the returning Sub-Zero, after discovering that he was the younger brother of the one who killed hims years ago he vowed to protect the ice ninja. But in his current situation he was more concerned on just getting out of this hell.Then he saw something out of the corner of his souless eye. He turned around and saw a ball of red and grey smoke fill the corner of the room, the smoke vanished and a figure lay lifeless on the ground; another damned soul had taken up resadence in the Neather Realm, he thought. He walked up to the figure to get a better look, the creature looked like the un-masked Reptile lying on his side, Scorpion narrowed his eyes and smiled evilily under his mask, he placed the tip of his blade under the creatures chin. He raised it's head and sighed angirly, it was not Reptile but it was a rapter. The creature looked up in shock at the sight of Scorpion standing over him with his sword, it groaned in pain and held it's head. Scorpion leaned down and grabbed his neck and picked him up, the raptor hissed in pain as his neck was squeezed in Scorpion's tight grip. Scorpion released him and the creature stood infront of him glaring angirly.

"So, who are you?" Scorpian asked.

"I am Trex. I have been banissshed to thisss, Hell, by Reptile." Replied Trex in a scratchy voice as he rubed his sore throat. Scorpion slowly walked around Trex looking him over. He was evidently some sort of raptor like Reptile but he had suttle differences, he was over all a lighter green than Reptile wearing a similar outfit to him but with black coloring, his jaw covering was silver instead of Reptile's black color. He looked younger than Reptile but deadliar than a common raptor. Scorpion looked up to Trex's neck and noticed that he had three slash marks starting from the side of his neck past his throat and stopping just above his chest. He examined the scar closely.

"So, is this why you are here?" asked Scorpion as he narrowed his eyes at the scar.

"Well yesss… I'd better tell you the whole ssstory." Trex hissed." I guesss I ssshould ssstart by ssstating my parentsss. My father was warrior for the realm of Zateria and wasss killed in battle by Ssshau Kahn'sss extermination sssquadsss, sssoon after, Kahn took over the realm and killed all of it'sss inhabitantsss, but my mother, Kameleon, and I essscaped and hid in Earth Realm. During the third Mortal Kombat my mother made contact with the only other sssurvivor of our race, Reptile. Having been deceived by Ssshau Kahn; Reptile, my mother and I essscape to a sssmall abandoned realm and have lived there for ssseveral yearsss in sssercret." Trex stopped and felt his scars on his neck. "I made the missstake of challenging Reptile for control of the sssmall band of raptorsss he commanded and the realm. I had long ssstudied him in battle and knew mossst of his movesss, but I was not sssuccesssful as you can sssee. He ssslassshed his clawsss at my neck and gave me thisss." He looked down at the scar on his neck and crinched in disguise. "It wasss my punissshment for my sssmugness and now I'm here." Trex closed his eyes in rage as he thought about the fight, which had actually happened only hours ago.

The fight started with a challenge by Trex, " I challenge you to Kombat, Reptile." Trex stated as he stood in the main chamber of Reptile's citadel.

" I accept your challenge, if you really want to die, then ssso be it." Reptile hissed with his usual arrogance.

They walked up to one and other took their fighting stances, Kameleon stood off to the side, she pitied her son's arrogance by challenging Reptile so soon. Trex could beat Reptile, but he needed more training and experience, Reptile had been a trained protector of sorceress and even gods, he was an assassin, and had survived Mortal Kombat. Kameleon loved her son, but she also loved Reptile, she would show no pity for the loser of the fight, the challenge had been made and must be carried out to the bitter end.

Reptile hissed at Trex and he, in turn, hissed back; they ran at each other and then Reptile vanished from site.

"I know what you're trying to do Reptile. I have ssstudied you all too well to be taken down by your invisssibility trick." With that Trex closed his eyes and concentrated, he heard movement in front of him. He jumped up in the air with his eyes still shut; he kicked Reptile directly in chest, he reappeared and crashed into a stone pillar.

"Ssso you have ssstudied my movesss Young One." Reptile stuttered as he wiped away the gravel from his shoulders and looked up at Trex. Then with speed like lighting, Trex ran behind Reptile picked him up and threw him over his shoulder and crashing to the ground. Reptile groaned in pain.

"You are beaten Reptile. You must now give me the leaderssship of the Raptorsss." Trex said in a triumphant voice.

" Not exactly. I ssstill have other tricksss up my ssscaly sssleeve." He jumped to his feet and makes a green orb that floated toward Trex; he tried to jump away from the orb but it knocked him into the air toward Reptile who then gave him a powerful uppercut. Trex was sent flying to the other side of the room and landed on his stomach. Reptile walked over and picked Trex up with his three sharp claws and punched him so hard Trex flew into a pillar that shattered into a million pieces upon impact.

"I have finissshed you, Trex. Prepare to die!" With that Reptile slashed Trex across his throat and chest, Trex hissed in agony as Reptile threw his dying body to the ground. With one last, struggling blow Trex pulled his dagger from his side clenched it with his hand and slashed Reptile's arm, Reptile fell back holding the deep cut on his arm and glared scornfully at Trex.

"Sssomething… to remember me by." Trex uttered he flinched in pain and died, Reptile walked forward and stood over Trex's dead body.

"I win." He said successfully as he kicked the dead body. "Raptorsss, dispossse of thisss trasssh." He ordered to the guards in the room, they bowed their heads and obeyed.

"And that isss why I am here." Finished Trex clenching his sharp teeth together in bitterness.

"Well, your story is very convincing and I know Reptile from previous Mortal Kombat tournaments, he is a vile creature indeed and would be a serious threat if he ever came into power." Scorpion added.

"That would never happened if we were to kill him firssst. Reptile would fall at our feet." Trex declared while grinning at Scorpion.

"That would be true but I have no personal vendetta against him, why would you ever want to team up with me?" Replied Scorpion.

"Well I've heard of your powersss and your problem. About how you can't leave thisss realm without the asssissstance of another. I could help you essscape, and all I asssk in return isss the promissse of your ssservicesss in defeating Reptile." Trex proposed. Scorpion looked back with his white eyes.

"How do you know I will keep my promise? I could use you to get out of here then kill your scaly hide." Scorpion replied.

"That could be a possssibility, but asss I sssaid I know a little about you, you are a ninja, and asss a ninja, well thossse who are honorable, alwaysss keep their word. That isss of courssse if they have any honor to begin with." Trex mocked. Scorpion lunged forward and grabbed Trex's throat and started to squeeze. "Ack… I, I… could be… wrong of… courssse." He stuttered as he squirmed under Scorpion's grip. Scorpion let go and Trex fell hard to the floor.

"Never question my honor Lizard, or you'll wish you'd never hatched." Scorpion threatened looking down at Trex. "Is that clear?"

"Cryssstal." He answered rubbing his soar neck. "Ssso how do we get out of here? I don't sssuppossse there'sss a front door or sssomething?"

"Not exactly, there's a way out but you'll have to do a little distracting." Scorpion replied walking into a long corridor. "There is a portal that can be opened, but there is also a guard, nothing I couldn't handle but I can't open the portal and fend off the guard at the same time, that's where you come in." He stopped.

"Ssso what do you want me to do?" Trex asked stepping in front of Scorpion.

"Distract him." He answered pushing Trex forward. He fell forward stumbling on the stone floor; he looked up and saw the figure of a very large, very angry black cloaked guard. Trex groaned and jumped to the side as the huge guard struck down at him. The guard was slow but he made up for it with brute strength. Trex jumped and ran trying to stay out of the guard's way; he was starting to tire when a bright yellow light caught his eye. He looked to the left and saw Scorpion motioning for him to come over, unfortunately this also distracted him from the guard who had backhanded his hard to the ground. Trex groaned in pain and tried to ignore his pounding head, he jumped out of the way of the guard's second blow and ran to the portal with his lighting speed. Once on the other side he saw Scorpion standing in front of him.

"Now wasn't that fun?" Scorpion mussed looking at the bruised and exhausted Trex who responded with a hiss.

They were in a heavily wooded area, the air was damp and the sky was dark, the perfect realm for Reptile and his raptors.

"Well I guesss we'll go in and find that ssslug Reptile, and then we will finisssh him for good." Trex says while walking down the hill eagerly.

"I see why Reptile could beat you so easily. A novice fighter could beat you with that cockiness of yours." Scorpion stated while snickering under his mask.

"Ssso what'sss your plan, if you're ssso sssmart." Trex asked while folding his arms.

"I say one of distracts him while the other one sneaks up on him." Scorpion replied.

"But there are two thingsss wrong with that. One, there are two of use versssesss all of his raptorsss, and two, how are we sssupposssed to find him in that dark cassstle of hisss before he findsss usss?" Hissed Trex glaring at Scorpion with a frustrated expression.

"Simple, we just make him come to us." Scorpion stated as he started down the hill. Trex ran after him.

"Oh what do you want to do? Make an appointment with him with one of raptorsss and hope we can get a one on one interview." He growled. Scorpion stopped and looked back at him.

"You have so much to learn Young One." He stated as he raised his sword. "What is the one thing that Reptile has always valued?" Trex started to get annoyed with Scorpion's constant questioning and mocking.

"What doesss that matter? We just want to kill him not…" Trex stopped as Scorpion raised his sword inches from his face.

"Do you ever shut up?" He asked. "Now listen and learn." Scorpion lowered his sword and Trex stood silently. "Good. Now Reptile has only valued one thing, his fellow raptors. Ever since he first entered the Mortal Kombat tournament he has always wanted his species restored to the time before Shau Kahn exterminated them therefor we can use that to our advantage. That is if you're not afraid to kill your own kind."

"That will not be a problem, Reptile betrayed me and killed me, I'll do anything to get him back even if it meansss dessstroying all of the raptorsss." He hissed with his eyes narrowed and teeth clenched.

"Good, you're ruthless, cold-blooded and presumptuous, that will work out fine." Scorpion acknowledged. "Now we'll not go directly to Reptile but make him suffer instead by killing his precious raptors one by one. He'll be furious with not knowing who or why this is happening. And when the time is right I'll reveal to you the final stage of my plan."

"Why later? Don't you trussst me to tell me now?" Growled Trex facing Scorpion. He looked back calmly.

"No, not yet." Answered Scorpion as he continued down the hill. Trex growled to himself at Scorpion's response but said nothing and followed him reluctantly.

They stood at the bottom of the hill and hide behind a mound of boulders; three raptors guarded the entrance.

"How many raptors does he have anyway?" Asked Scorpion turning toward Trex.

"Around fifty, give or take." He responded.

"We'll get rid of these three now. Come on." Scorpion ordered.

"But…" Before Trex had a chance to argue Scorpion had already teleported to the entrance surprising one of the guards by powerfully kicking him to the ground. Trex hissed angrily and went to engage the second raptor. He ran with his lightening speed to the raptor and lifted him up with one of his arms. The raptor hissed and struggled violently at the surprise attack but couldn't release himself from Trex's grip. Trex growled triumphantly as he took out his stabbing dagger and cut off the raptor's head, he turned toward the third raptor and did the same. He then heard shuffling behind him and looked back to see that the third raptor was running into the castle.

"He's mine." Ordered Scorpion pulling back his right hand, Trex looked at Scorpion confusingly.

"Well, aren't you going to do anything? His getting away!" He protested.

"Watch and learn." Replied Scorpion with a humorous tone. "GET OVER HERE!" He yelled as he pushed his hand forward throwing a spear at the raptor. The raptor turned around with an ear-piercing hiss as the spear pierced his throat Scorpion then dragged the half-dead raptor toward him and took the spear out of the creature's neck; then he took his sword and chopped its head off laughing the whole time. He turned toward Trex with his blood stained mask.

"How did you…?" Stuttered Trex still trying to comprehend what just happened.

" I have my secrets." He answered.

They both walked into a long corridor with pillars going all the way down.

"Wait!" Trex shouted while holding his hand to his ear. "There are two raptorsss on my ssside and three on yoursss," Scorpion raised his head as he heard the other raptors closing in. "Ever hear of the term, 'divide and conquer'?" He added with a grin pointing to either side, Scorpion nodded. Trex flipped to the side and landed right into the group of raptors. He kicked backwards at the raptor behind him and grabbed the head of the raptor that was next to him and broke his neck, and to finish off the other one behind him he took out his dagger, stuck it in the raptors stomach, pulled upward and dragged the raptor toward him with the blade still lodged in his stomach. The raptor hissed in pain as Trex pulled the blade out spun around and sliced of his head. The raptors lay lifeless on the ground around him.

Trex ran over to find out what happened to Scorpion. As he came closer he could see one raptor decapitated one pierced on a spear that had been stuck in the ground and the other was half-dead on it's knees looking up at Scorpion in terror. Scorpion yelled triumphantly and ripped off his mask; Trex stared in horror at the skull that rested atop Scorpion's shoulders instead of his head. Scorpion hollow, soulless eyes burned with hell fire as he leaned backwards, his bony jaws opened and fires shot at the helpless raptor. Scorpion stopped and watched the raptor struggle and hiss as he was engulfed in the flames until the screams stopped and the raptor fell to the ground still burning.

Scorpion looked back at Trex with his skull eyes, Trex stared still surprised by the scene he had just witnessed. He replaced his mask back on his 'head' and walked toward Trex.

"Secrets." He stated with an evil tone as he walked passed Trex and out of the entrance. Trex shook off the feeling of terror and followed, he wasn't even going to ask this time.

They walked back to the forest where Scorpion stopped and turned around.

"We'll lay low for a day and then go back, Reptile should be finding his raptors right now and my guess is that he's not happy." Stated Scorpion as he sat down on a nearby rock.

"Ssso what are we sssupposssed to do till then?" Questioned Trex.

"Nothing, think you can handle that Junior?" Answered Scorpion. Trex hissed angrily at Scorpion.

"I'm not sssomeone you can just pusssh around." Hissed Trex angrily as he bared his claws menacing.

"Do you think you can take me on Lizard?" Replied Scorpion grinning under his mask. "I'd burn you to a crisp."

"That would awfully hard after I cut your head off!" Threatened Trex taking out his blade and raising it to his side.

"And what makes you think you could get that close?" Replied Scorpion getting more and more annoyed. Trex hissed at Scorpion and started to circle with his blade held tightly. "Of course if you did kill me, who would help you defeat Reptile?"

"And that'sss the only reassson that I'll let you live right now." Answered Trex putting away his blade. Scorpion started to laugh; Trex glared at him as he sat on the ground opposite him.
